8 Spiritual Blocks Potentially Hindering You from Walking in Joy & Freedom!

Today I am unpacking the 7th block, which is: Blocks Forgiveness

Forgiveness: It's a tough topic isn't it?

At some point, in all our lives, someone wounds us with their words or actions and we are faced with the hard choice of forgiving them or not forgiving them.

I particularly love the Message translation of Matthew 6:14-15 which says:

“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do.

You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others.

If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part."

So, according to God's Word, we can't expect God's forgiveness if we are unwilling to forgive those who have wounded us.

Did you know?

Did you know that the wounds caused by someone's words or actions are imprinted on your body, and the emotions you experienced during that wounding are part of that imprint? This means that until released, those emotions have a stronghold within your body, keeping you bound to the trauma of the wound!

• Blocks to forgiveness can cause us to ruminate on past wounds to the point where it negatively impacts our relationships.
• Blocks to forgiveness can keep us walking in guilt and shame, which places a distance between us and God.
• Blocks to forgiveness can cause bitterness, resentment and anger to linger within our bodies, wreaking havoc on our physical health.
