Why Did I Choose MBSR?
While caring for my dying mother, I remember a moment we were sitting in the living room talking and sharing together. I recall saying to her with tears streaming down my face, “I was made for more than what I’ve been doing with my life so far.” At that time, I didn’t know what that “more” looked like, and frankly, I still don’t know exactly what “more” looks like, but I am confident of this one thing: God is taking my pain and turning it to Empowerment, and I couldn’t be more grateful and thrilled to be on this beautiful journey.
I chose to pursue my certification in MBSR™ because for decades, I have had a burning passion to help women heal from their deepest pain, loss, and trauma. MBSR™ is a beautiful Christian modality (tool) that has been instrumental in going into the deeper places my traditional counseling experiences couldn’t go, to bring healing and restoration into my life and relationships like I never imagined possible. After such a positive experience with MBSR™ in my own life, I am passionate about sharing it with anyone else looking to go deeper in their healing journey.
The body is a beautiful creation of God, and as the Temple of the Holy Spirit, it is crucial that we take our healing journey seriously. Every cell in our body was designed with a purpose and every emotion we experience is stored within the cells and organs of our body. That said, when we experience trauma of any sort (big T or little t), that trauma creates an imprint inside our cells and organs that when triggered causes a physical and emotional response. Through MBSR™, we can dive into a deeper view of each trauma to uncover the “hidden” emotions and limiting beliefs that are holding us back from emotional, mental, spiritual and even physical healing.
What makes me Different?
Each MBSR™ practitioner is unique. I don’t view other practitioners as competitors, rather as peers. We all desire to help others heal at a deeper emotional level, and some clients just click better with one practitioner over another. As far as what makes me different or unique, the bottom line is this: I have personally experienced pain, loss and trauma, so I can relate to many of the stories my clients have shared or experienced and can attest to the power of MBSR in my own life.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and chose my MBSR™ certification because of how much I believe in it. While I have toyed with the idea of pursuing my master’s degree in counseling, MBSR™ targets healing at such a deep level, and allows me to see clients across the globe, without borders and limitations, whereas a license in counseling would limit who I can see and where they are located. Personally, I believe I am made for more and serving women globally is part of my vision, so MBSR™ allows me to do more of what I love, with those I choose to serve and with the ease and flexibility I long for in a career.
MBSR™ is great for those seeking to:
Reduce the effects of stress and stressful triggers on the mind and body.
Enhance spiritual growth.
Create and foster healthier relationships.
Develop healthier boundaries.
Become aware of and more in control of what behaviors are driving actions.
Develop a deeper sense of love and self-compassion.
Experience more physical and emotional balance.
Enhance cognitive clarity and speed.
How does it work?
Each time you have a significant emotional event or trauma, your body produces a unique cocktail of hormones, neurotransmitters, and emotions that can be stored within the cells. Your body remembers this specific blend and can be prompted to again release that unique combination of chemicals and emotions when presented with a trigger. This can create a positive or a negative experience, much like the smell of the perfume of a loved one creates a warm feeling inside or, conversely, a barking dog causes sweating or shaking in someone who was previously attacked.
Most of these imprints are stored deep within the subconscious memories of the cells, so we are unaware that they are draining our energy and directing us to detrimental and limiting beliefs and behaviors. Often, we do not know what the original event was or make the connection with how we were feeling at that time. We just feel the impact and imbalance of the chemicals and emotions flooding our systems and our feelings and
behaviors suffer as a result.
We are all aware of the detrimental effect of long-term exposure to low-vibration emotions (anger, grief, resentment, loneliness) and stress hormones. Being able to identify and mitigate these negative cellular memories can be very helpful in our ability to move forward from the event and subsequent detrimental patterns and beliefs. This can be achieved whether we are consciously aware of them or not by reducing their impact on our health and wellbeing and freeing up that space for higher vibration thoughts and feelings (connection, love, trust, hope, joy).
What to expect:
The session begins with the client and MBSR™ practitioner identifying your intention or goal. The practitioner is then able to access specific detrimental imprints (emotions, limiting beliefs, energetic blocks) by tapping into your subconscious mind through Muscle Response and/or Ideomotor Response (pendulum) Testing. Through these means, she can determine a grouping or “layer” of your emotions, hormones, limiting beliefs, neurotransmitters, etc. that your body has associated with an event or belief pattern and its triggers. After this is done, the practitioner stimulates your nervous system through cold light therapy and acupressure reflex points to help energetically calm the nervous system response and help the subconscious mind release your stored negative baggage that is directing your unwanted feelings and behaviors. By facilitating the release of this limiting emotional and energetic baggage with the connected harmful biological chemicals, your body can be freed to work in union with the subconscious mind towards creating the intention you have identified.
This is not a passive form of energetic clearing, though. At the end of the session, you will be given some meaningful home activities to help solidify the shifts. The initial session is 45-60 minutes, Follow-ups are typically 30-60 minutes and are recommended every 1-3 weeks until you feel like you have manifested your intention to your satisfaction. Many of our clients schedule maintenance MBSR™ sessions every 6-8 weeks to make sure that they stay energetically balanced and on track. This is also very helpful to use during a stressful time in life to help you stay balanced mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and energetically.

I am a certified Mind Body Spirit Release™ Practitioner excited to embark on this new journey of helping people heal from past trauma(s), grief as well as various life challenges and disappointments. Life is hard, #butGod is always good! We may not understand why things happen, but I have graciously learned, God either reveals the "why" behind the trials, or teaches us understanding while providing us with various modalities to help us endure life's toughest challenges. MBSR™ has been monumental in bringing healing into my life and relationships so I look forward to helping others discover the healing this beautiful, Christian-based modality offers.
Living an authentic and transparent life is most important to me, which is why I recently launched a six-week Emotional Support Group for women and girls who want to learn about Breaking Free from Body Shame. In these support groups we focus on authenticity while sharing our unique story in vulnerability. We learn that we are not alone; we all struggle with insecurities. However, the powerful truths from God's Word empower us to learn to love our very good body the way God created it and how to turn our Pain to Empowerment.
I am passionate about Jesus, the life He has blessed me with and the calling He placed on my life when I was just a child. I desire to be a willing vessel He can use to encourage others as I carry on the beautiful legacy my late parents left me of loving Jesus passionately and unwaveringly.
Welcome to my journey and thank you for including me in yours!
