8 Spiritual Blocks Potentially Hindering You from Walking in Joy & Freedom!  #3: Self Punishment

Continuing my series on 8 Spiritual Blocks Potentially Hindering You from Walking in Joy & Freedom!

#3 is: Self Punishment

Being human and living in a fallen world means we make mistakes, we sin and we fall short on the daily.  While God calls us to repentance (the act of turning away from our sin) He does not desire for us to wallow in guilt and shame. Period.

When we walk in guilt and shame, we often are unknowingly embracing the spiritual block of Self Punishment.

Here are some ways you might be embracing Self Punishment:

  • If you consistently ruminate on past failures in your life without giving God the credit for the victory/victories in your life.
  • If you think or say things like "I don't deserve to be happy", "I don't deserve God's blessings", "I am not good enough", "God can't possibly forgive or use me".
  • If you struggle to embrace a gift from someone as a blessing from God; thinking, feeling or even saying that you don't deserve it - that someone else is more deserving than you.

Friend, Self Punishment is not humility!

Self Punishment is the act of wallowing in guilt and shame and taking away the credit due to Jesus for the life He willingly sacrificed for us to have forgiveness through repentance!

In the name of Jesus, I pray you will break free from Self Punishment and choose to walk in the repentance and forgiveness that only comes from Jesus!

If Self Punishment is an area of your life with which you are struggling and you truly desire to break free from this - I would be honored to come alongside you through Mind Body Spirit Release™. Together we will discover all God has in store for you as you embrace His love and forgiveness in a whole new way.

With Love,
