When You've Got Nothin'
March 20, 2014|Satin Pelfrey
Lately, I’ve found myself at a loss for words with my writing. Well, maybe not completely at a loss for words, but they aren’t flowing as frequently as they have been and I just keep thinking “I’ve got nothin’ to say”. I’ve been wrestling with this issue because after all, how can a writer write without words? However, God is teaching me REST, which sometimes means rest from all things good!
I’d like to share a few things God’s been whispering to my restless heart during this time.
****
****This is a very difficult thing for me to do. Stillness is strange to me!
I’m a goer & doer, a mover & shaker!
Yet, during this time of rest, God keeps whispering to my heart, BE STILL.
**_Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I_ am God”**
****God keeps reminding me to be quiet and accept that sometimes I have nothing to say
because it’s in the stillness that He will give me the Words He wants me to say.
I never want to be a vessel spewing words that are not anointed.
**_Isaiah 30:15
“In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”_**
****Oh, that painful word “wait”!!!
Living in a society of instant gratification,
waiting for anything is extremely difficult.
It’s in the waiting that we get to watch God’s hand at work.
It’s in the waiting that He moves mountains.
It’s in the waiting that He makes all things new.
“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Friend, if you happen to be in a season where you’re feelin’ like you’ve got nothin, may you be encouraged in knowing that God has given us everything we need, we just have to learn to walk it! Be Still, Be Quiet & Wait.

The Dreaded "C" word: Cancer
I’ve been mulling over this post for several days now. My heart wants to go there, but my head does not. It’s not a pretty place, it’s an awkward & painful place, yet at the same time it’s a beautiful place-if I choose to look at it that way. I still remember the day, as…
