My Dad, Richard Klitzke — Forever Loved
Home with Jesus · April 11, 2016

While my dad and I had a rocky relationship growing up, the Lord restored what years had bruised. The last ten years I had with my dad were the very best. Redemption is real, and I lived it with him.
He and Mom were the ones who first put the Word of God in my hands. The very first book I ever read was the Bible — sitting around the kitchen table, sounding out verses before the day even began.
He took me fishing on the lake (I never caught a single thing until Tyler took me as an adult — sorry, Dad). He was fiercely protective and loved me so well. He taught me to be a strong, independent woman, to question everything against the Word of God, and to keep the Lord first in my life. So much of who I am today, I owe to him.
I love and miss you, Daddy.

I walked down the aisle.

My mom was the very first person to encourage me to write. When I was thinking about starting a blog, my husband Tyler encouraged me to go for it — and together, the two of them were my biggest fans from the beginning.
I lost my mom to cancer on December 17, 2019. Her last comment here was on November 6th — just over a month before she went home to Jesus. Reading her words now feels like hearing her cheering me on all over again.
She left 40 comments across the years, tucked underneath my posts like little notes slipped into a lunchbox. Here they are, every one of them, in the order she wrote them — so I can still hear her voice cheering me on.
I love and miss you, Mom & Best Friend.

"Could be me writing these words if I were gifted in this area, as you definitely are, with being able to express yourself in ‘His Words’. Keep writing and God bless."
