About Satin

Hello! I'm Satin (like the fabric).

Welcome, friend. I'm so glad you're here.

I am a woman who has been marked by the mercy of Jesus. My life hasn't been perfect, but it's been perfectly held by the One who redeems every part of our story. From deep heartbreak to unexpected healing, from grief to grace — I've come to know God not just in theory, but in the trenches of real life.

I'm passionate about creating spaces where women feel safe to show up fully as they are — loved, seen, and held by the Lord. Whether it's through writing, podcasting, or simply sharing the messy middle moments, I want my life to echo one thing: Jesus is faithful.

My little family

I'm married to my best friend, Tyler — we said "I do" in 2011, and I got the gift of becoming a bonus mom to Jackson from day one. Choosing to be a stepmom first shaped me in ways I never expected. When Tyler and I later tried to have a child of our own, it didn't happen — that simply wasn't part of God's plan for us. But Jackson? He is the miracle baby God wrote into my story all along. He just graduated high school and is attending our local community college for the general education, before deciding what direction he wants to go for his four-year degree.

Gunner, Gigi & Tucker

Our home wouldn't be home without a dog at our feet. Right now that's Gunner, our 13-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer — equal parts wise old soul and forever puppy. We also carry sweet memories of Gigi and Tucker, who crossed the rainbow bridge but left paw prints all over our hearts.

a little more about me

The everyday stuff

I'm a true introvert at heart, but I've always been able to move right into being a social butterfly–extrovert when the moment calls for it. That balance is just how God wired me: deeply needing my quiet solitude and 1:1 time with my closest friends, while still enjoying lively, group events.

Born and raised in sunny San Diego, California, I am now a proud Texan. I love the conservative roots of our state, and have grown so much under the leadership of our church, Mercy Culture , in Fort Worth. My simple joys include, but are not limited to: reading a good book, boat rides on the lake with my hubby, girl-time with my closest friends, retail therapy and savoring new tastes and atmospheres at restaurants we've never tried before.

Most mornings you'll find me with a Pique Green Goddess Matcha latte in hand during my daily encounter with Jesus. The verse I've chosen to anchor everything I write is:

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer."
— Psalm 19:14 (ESV)

This page gives you just a little glimpse into my heart, my family, and the callings I hold close. More than anything, I pray you leave here feeling strengthened — not by my story, but by the One who's writing yours.

A space for the hard and holy

The blog is where I process what God is teaching me — Scripture-rich reflections, real stories, and quiet reminders that you are seen, held, and not walking this alone.
